It's reviews galore at the minute. Just a few days back we
managed to grab some time with the Asus P526. Priced up
at £288.99 off-contract this is a touch-screen Pocket PC hiding in a
classic Smartphone shell. It packs a 2 megapixel camera, quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE
connectivity, bluetooth and microSD card slot along with an in-built GPS
receiver.

Well, it seems like at last things are happening - the HTC
Shift is definitely coming to Orange and you'll be able to buy it
before the end of February. Orange have just sent us the official press release
which states...

"The HTC Shift will be available to buy online at Orange.co.uk, and in
selected Orange retail stores throughout the UK from the end of February. The
Shift will be priced at £999 with a data tariff."

We've just added our review of the i-Mate JAMA 101. It's
a tough little Windows Mobile 6 Pro phone which is currently selling for £199.95 off-contract.

Microsoft blogger Jason Langridge has just appeared in this Channel 10 video looking at a range of Windows Mobile phones. The Palm Treo 500, TyTN II, Pantech Duo and other phones make an appearance.

Christmas is pretty much on us now, so I'd just like to say a few words to you - the dedicated CoolSmartPhone reader. 2007 has been an emotional and stressful time for me and I'll be having a peaceful Christmas at home with Emily and our family. You have all helped me through the last few turbulent months and I'm now looking forward to 2008.

It looks like Devicewire are now selling iMate phones and have the JAMA 101 and JAMA 201 in stock. They've also in stock of the iMate Ultimate 6150 and 8150 phones coming soon.

Many months ago the guys at Ateksoft sent us a copy of WebCamera Plus. It's a simply fantastic piece of software which turns your mobile phone into a mobile webcam. Now, with version 2, you get not just streaming video - but sound too!

If you're a "Pay As You Go" customer you may find that you have a special code to dial to get your balance - it might be *#10# or *101# etc. This program will sit on your homescreen and check how much credit you have remaining. Available for both touch screen and non-touch-screen phones you can check manually, daily or hourly. It'll also display the results in your local language.

Here's another contact manager designed for the stylus-hating user ;) Finger-Frienly Friends will let you poke your screen and quickly find contacts, text, email or call them using your finger. Plus, if you have in-built GPS you can send your position to your friends via SMS.

Featuring a fast contact lookup system, flexible touch-screen mechanism it even promises to work while you're wearing gloves (ideal for this winter weather) !
